We may use engagement information to understand or infer which subjects, speakers, resources, products, and services appear to interest you.
We do not use automated processing to make decisions about you that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
4. Sharing Information With the Host
Unless you unsubscribe before the Program ends, we may provide the Host with information collected through your registration or participation, including:
- Your name;
- Your email address;
- Your telephone number;
- Your company, profession, or title;
- Your registration answers;
- Your stated interests or preferences; and
- Relevant participation or engagement information.
The Host may use this information for its own marketing purposes, including:
- Educating you about the Host’s work;
- Following up regarding the Program;
- Inviting you to future events or Programs;
- Promoting the Host’s communities, products, programs, or services; and
- Sending other marketing communications.
The end of a Program means the final official day, closing date, giveaway deadline, or other conclusion date stated on the Program’s website or in its communications.
Unsubscribing Before the Program Ends
If you unsubscribe using a link in a Program email, or otherwise notify us that you wish to unsubscribe, before the Program ends, we will not include your registration contact information in the post-Program contact list provided to the Host.
Your activity may still be included in anonymous, aggregated, statistical, or deidentified reports that do not reasonably identify you.
This exclusion applies to the Host list associated with that Program. It does not necessarily remove information previously provided directly by you to the Host through:
- The Host’s own website;
- A separate registration form;
- A purchase;
- A resource request;
- A direct communication; or
- Another independent relationship with the Host.
After personal information has been provided to a Host, the Host is independently responsible for its use of that information. The Host’s use of your information may also be governed by its own privacy policy.
You may need to unsubscribe separately from communications sent directly by the Host.
5. Sharing Information With Speakers and Other Participants
Aggregate Information
We may share aggregated or statistical information with speakers, presenters, sponsors, prize providers, and other Participants. This may include:
- The number of people who registered;
- The number of people who viewed or listened to a presentation;
- General viewing and completion rates;
- The number of clicks, downloads, or requests associated with a Participant;
- General audience interests;
- Poll or survey results;
- Referral and promotional performance; and
- Other Program-performance information.
Aggregate information generally does not identify individual participants.
Individual Engagement Information
We may share individual-level information with a speaker or other Participant when you have engaged with that Participant or the Participant’s content.
Depending on the Program and the nature of the interaction, this may include your name, contact information, and relevant activity when you have:
- Viewed or listened to the Participant’s presentation;
- Clicked the Participant’s link, advertisement, offer, or call to action;
- Requested or downloaded the Participant’s resource;
- Entered a giveaway or promotion associated with the Participant;
- Responded to a Participant-related question, poll, or survey;
- Indicated that you wish to learn more from the Participant;
- Requested contact or follow-up;
- Sent the Participant a message;
- Joined a Participant’s activity or breakout session; or
- Otherwise interacted with the Participant or the Participant’s content.
Individual-level sharing is ordinarily based on a participant’s engagement with that particular speaker or Participant.
We do not ordinarily provide every speaker or Participant with the complete registration list merely because that person or organization participated in the Program.
Once personal information has been provided to a speaker or other Participant, that party is independently responsible for how the information is used. Communications sent directly by that party may require a separate unsubscribe request.
6. Service Providers
We may provide information to companies, platforms, and contractors that help us operate the Programs. These may include:
- Website and database hosting providers;
- Email delivery platforms;
- Text-message and communication services;
- Video, audio, and content-hosting providers;
- Analytics and reporting services;
- Form, survey, and registration platforms;
- Giveaway and contest administration tools;
- Payment processors;
- Customer-service and technical-support providers;
- Security and fraud-prevention services;
- Data-storage and backup providers; and
- Contractors assisting with Program production, administration, marketing, or support.
These providers may access information as reasonably necessary to perform services for us, subject to their agreements and applicable law.
7. Other Circumstances in Which We May Share Information
Legal and Safety Disclosures
We may disclose information when we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to:
- Comply with a law, regulation, subpoena, court order, or legal process;
- Respond to a lawful government request;
- Investigate fraud, security incidents, abuse, or violations of Program rules;
- Enforce Program terms, giveaway rules, or other agreements;
- Protect the safety, rights, or property of participants, Hosts, Participants, ConCardia, or others; or
- Establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
Business Transfers
Information may be transferred as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, change in ownership, or similar transaction involving ConCardia or a Program.
With Your Direction or Consent
We may share information when you direct us to do so, request an introduction, ask to receive a resource, enter a promotion requiring disclosure, or otherwise consent to the sharing.
8. Aggregated and Deidentified Information
We may create, retain, use, and share information that has been aggregated, anonymized, or deidentified so that it does not reasonably identify a particular individual.
We may use this information for:
- Analytics;
- Research;
- Program reporting;
- Speaker and Host reports;
- Business planning;
- Marketing statistics;
- Development of new Programs;
- Improvement of existing Programs; and
- Promotion of Program results.
We may retain aggregated and deidentified information for an extended or indefinite period, provided that we do not attempt to reidentify it except as permitted by law.
9. Email, Telephone, and Text Communications
By registering for or participating in a Program, you may receive:
- Registration confirmations;
- Access instructions;
- Program reminders;
- Presentation or activity notifications;
- Deadline notices;
- Engagement and participation messages;
- Follow-up communications;
- Announcements about related or future Programs; and
- Marketing communications from ConCardia and Michael Whitehouse.
You may unsubscribe from promotional emails by using the unsubscribe link included in the email or by contacting us.
We may retain your email address on a suppression list so that we can honor your unsubscribe request.
Unsubscribing from promotional communications may not prevent us from sending essential administrative messages concerning:
- An active registration;
- A prize or giveaway entry;
- A purchase;
- A requested resource;
- An account or membership;
- A security issue;
- A privacy request; or
- A legal matter.
Telephone and Text Messages
Where permitted by law and consistent with any consent you provide, we may use your telephone number to:
- Send Program reminders;
- Provide access information;
- Notify you of schedule changes;
- Encourage Program participation;
- Contact giveaway or contest winners;
- Respond to requests;
- Invite you to future Programs; or
- Send marketing communications.
When legally required, consent to receive automated promotional calls or text messages will be requested separately. Consent to promotional text messages or automated calls is not a condition of purchasing a product or service.
You may opt out of text messages by replying STOP or by following the instructions provided in the message. Message and data rates may apply.
A privacy policy by itself does not constitute consent to receive automated promotional calls or text messages where separate consent is required.
10. Cookies and Similar Technologies
The Programs may use cookies, local storage, pixels, tracking links, server logs, and similar technologies to:
- Keep websites and Programs functioning;
- Recognize registered or returning visitors;
- Remember settings and preferences;
- Provide access to Program content;
- Measure viewing and engagement;
- Track referrals, affiliate links, or giveaway activities;
- Understand email activity;
- Analyze site and communication performance;
- Detect security or technical issues; and
- Improve our Programs.
Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies. Disabling cookies or similar technologies may interfere with Program functions, prevent content from loading properly, or prevent us from accurately recording your participation.
11. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to:
- Operate and administer Programs;
- Provide requested services and resources;
- Conduct the marketing and analytical activities described in this policy;
- Maintain business and financial records;
- Verify giveaway or contest results;
- Prevent fraud or duplicate entries;
- Honor unsubscribe and privacy requests;
- Resolve disputes;
- Enforce agreements; and
- Comply with legal obligations.
We may retain suppression records after an unsubscribe request so that we do not accidentally add you back to a marketing list.
Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information, the Program involved, our relationship with you, and applicable legal requirements.
12. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards intended to protect personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, loss, misuse, destruction, or alteration.
However, no website, database, email system, text-message system, or Internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You provide information through the Programs at your own risk.
13. Your Privacy Choices and Rights
Depending on where you live and which privacy laws apply, you may have the right to request that we:
- Confirm whether we process your personal information;
- Provide access to personal information we maintain about you;
- Correct inaccurate personal information;
- Delete certain personal information;
- Provide a portable copy of certain information;
- Identify categories of information we collect, use, and disclose;
- Identify categories of third parties to which information is disclosed;
- Opt you out of certain targeted advertising, sales, sharing, or profiling; or
- Review or appeal a decision concerning a privacy request.
We do not sell personal information in exchange for monetary payment.
We do disclose information to Hosts, speakers, Participants, service providers, and others as specifically described in this Privacy Policy.
To submit a privacy request, contact us using the information in the “Contact Us” section. Please include:
- Your name;
- Your email address;
- The Program involved; and
- The nature of your request.
We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. Certain information may be exempt from deletion or another request where its retention or use is permitted or required by law.
We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right.
If applicable law permits you to appeal our response, send an email with the words Privacy Appeal in the subject line and explain why you believe our response should be reconsidered.
14. Children’s Privacy
The Programs are designed for general audiences and are not specifically directed to children under 13.
Children under 13 may view age-appropriate publicly available Program content with the involvement and supervision of a parent or legal guardian.
A child under 13 should not directly submit a name, email address, telephone number, message, photograph, recording, or other personal information through a Program.
A parent or legal guardian who wishes to allow a child under 13 to participate should:
- Complete the registration on the child’s behalf;
- Provide the parent’s or guardian’s contact information rather than the child’s contact information; and
- Supervise the child’s participation.
We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 without legally required parental notice and verifiable parental consent.
If we learn that we have collected personal information directly from a child under 13 without proper parental consent, we may delete the information, restrict the registration, or contact the parent or guardian to obtain appropriate consent.
Parents and legal guardians may contact us to:
- Ask whether we hold information concerning their child;
- Review information concerning their child;
- Request correction or deletion;
- Revoke previously provided consent; or
- Prevent further collection or use of their child’s information.
Participants under the age of majority in their location should use the Programs with the knowledge and permission of a parent or legal guardian.
15. Third-Party Websites, Resources, and Offers
Programs and Program communications may contain links to websites, downloads, offers, communities, products, payment pages, or services operated by Hosts, speakers, sponsors, prize providers, or other third parties.
We do not control the privacy, security, content, or business practices of those third parties.
Information you provide directly through a third-party website or service is governed by that party’s privacy practices, not this Privacy Policy.
16. International Participants
ConCardia and the Summits.fun platform are based in the United States.
If you access a Program from another country, your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States or another location where our service providers operate. Privacy laws in those locations may differ from the laws in your country.
Where applicable law requires additional protections, rights, notices, or legal grounds for processing, we will apply those requirements to the extent they apply to our activities.
17. Program-Specific Notices
A particular Program may provide additional information concerning its Host, speakers, sponsors, prize providers, features, rules, or data practices.
Any Program-specific notice supplements this Privacy Policy.
If there is a direct conflict between this Privacy Policy and a Program-specific privacy notice, the Program-specific notice will control only with respect to that Program and the particular subject addressed.
Official rules for a giveaway or contest may also contain additional terms concerning eligibility, entries, winners, publicity, prizes, and administration.
18. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as our Programs, technology, business practices, or legal obligations change.
The updated version will be posted on summits.fun with a revised “Last Updated” date.
Material changes may also be communicated through a Program website or by email when appropriate.
Changes will apply prospectively from the stated effective date, subject to applicable law. Where applicable law requires notice or consent before information is used for a materially different purpose, we will provide that notice or request that consent.
